Lace + Oxfords

I've been down with the flu for days and it's hard to sniffle my way to my closet and get inspired to work out an outfit for the day. I usually wear dark and dull colors whenever I'm under the weather, it's my weird way of coping up with the illness. But when I got my package with the new baby in it, I felt better and inspired to wear something bright to match with the shoes!

my new babies! ♥

Booked our flight for my birthday!!! Really looking forward to gracing the streets of the land where peking ducks and dumplings abound! ;) HK, here we come!

60 minutes for the world

A and I had a lazy Saturday morning just lounging around and catching up on some needed Zzzzss. We got out of bed by late afternoon to visit our doctor and get him to tell us to eat healthier and get on our butts to work out!
Upon hearing that, I decided I should really start working out IMMEDIATELY! So I asked A to bring me to the mall to have my total body work out. Felt like I lost 2 lbs doing weights (carrying loads of clothes and shoes to try on), stretching (trying on the clothes), and some cardio (walking around the big mall). It was the best workout EVER!!! Haha! Ok, ok, so I like cheating! ;)
I did get to score some lovely items at a bargain! Got a few ZARAs, a DKNY, GAP, BCBG and OLD NAVY's -- each under P500 (USD10)! I was a happy trooper!
Of course, after all that shopping, a girl needs to be fed! Considering we had to eat healthier, we just opted for some Japanese to avoid the guilt of pizza and burgers! We celebrated earth hour at our fave Jap resto, Omakase. I just thought it would be great to save energy for an hour and remember JAPAN. (Our thoughts and prayers go out to the lives the quake and tsunami have changed.)

Pardon the low res photos...candles were the only light source.

We actually ordered yakitori, but it didn't get the chance to see the light of my iPhone since we ate it as soon as it landed on our table. We waited to be seated for about half an hour and devoured everything in half an hour! Omakase is worth the wait, all the time!

Happy Tummies!

A King's Birthday

My weekend was spent spending playful time with kids. It was my nephew's 3rd birthday. My sister and I got busy with a few decorations and making some great food! We put up banners, balloons, and paper pompoms. Here's the link for the tutorial:

Paper pompoms abound

The food was delish and very unique for a children's party. We had quiche, tempura, spring rolls, noodles, and my mom's specialty, lengua! I was just happy pigging out in my little corner while being the official photographer, of course!

This week I was tasked to lead a team of photographers in documenting 2 office events, 1 for a film showing and the other, my most favorite of all, flea market/auction!! Excited to be delegated a task and giddy to snap away. Will post them soon! :D

Ooohh, I managed to get myself a tripod, so hopefully I'll be able to upload some outfit posts real soon! ;)

"Sam Won" gave me a pleasant surprise!

Been preoccupied in finding a nice beach house we can rent for a weekend in April. My friends and I are in dire need to toast under the sun and intoxicate ourselves the whole day. All the planning and researching made me really hungry so as early as 5 pm, I felt my stomach grumble which trigerred A and I to try a Korean restaurant recommended by our couple friends, L&R. We're no Korean fans and we were skeptical at first, but when I tried their grilled beef, babambi, grilled chicken, their noodle soup and all the other stuff, Man, was it good! I ate more than he did! A didn't like it and just watched me eat like a pig! I will definitely come back for more!

Military orange

Last weekend was a gloomy one and with all the war stories A had been watching on History channel, I got inspired to wear the military-ish coat I got a week ago. I wanted to keep things simple but still wanted some color since it's still summer so I opted for a bright orange haltered dress.

I'm grateful for a laid back weekend where nothing is planned and everything runs in slow motion. I love the gloomy weather which is best spent cuddling and being lazy with A!

So, how was your weekend...??

Travel wishlist for 2011

I hope to cross them all out of my list one by one this year...mostly are beach destinations(I breathe the beach). I always make sure I visit the beach at least thrice a year, but this year, it's different as I want to go back to surfing! I haven't been surfing for like forever and I miss the natural high I get when I'm catching the waves!

I just love the fact that I live in a country where beaches are abundant and flights are cheap! Haha!

So for domestic destinations, here are the places on top of my list:

Found on the Eastern shoreline of the Philippines, facing the Pacific Ocean and the Philippine deep. Siargao offers virtually the best of what this country has to offer -- coral reef islets, white sand beaches, emerald lagoons, mangrove rivers, palm trees, rice fields, rainforests, cliffs, and caves. To know more about this island, visit this site
Thinking of staying in this resort:

These secret paradises remain unexploited from the commercial tourism, which adds to their appeal. Not a lot of resorts can be found here. In fact, there are no resorts in Calaguas at all. You can only camp on the beach. Caramoan was the location for Survivor France and have heard that Survivor Israel will also be using the same island for their location. I might be getting you confused, Calaguas and Caramoan are entirely different islands, Calaguas is in Camarines Norte (northern side), while Caramoan is in Camarines Sur (southern side) but are both in the Visayas group of islands.

t.a.w.i - t.a.w.i

Tawi tawi is an island province in the Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), this island is not very famous with both locals and tourists alike as there's a misconception that it is dangerous to go here, as it is located in Mindanao. It is the southernmost of the country sharing sea borders with the Malaysian State of Sabah and the Indonesian Kalimantan province. Actually, it is one of the safest provinces in Mindanao. My adventurous side kicks in whenever I see fear in the eyes of the people I ask to go with me. No one wants to risk, well except for my favorite travel buddy, A! So I'm looking forward to be non-conformists and visit the island together!!

It being the smallest province of the Philippines, I think it becomes charming and enticing to visit the place all the more. There doesn't used to be a lot of flights going to and from Basco (capital of Batanes), good thing SeaAir is now flying daily!! There's not much you can do around here though, so this is not for the wild ones. This is a perfect retreat if you want some R&R, some alone time, or just have a lazy weekend with your friends or the ♥♥!

The province is composed of 10 islands and is at the northernmost tip of the country, so it is frequented by A LOT of typhoons, be sure to plan a trip in the summer (March-May) to avoid being stuck there for days.

And on to international destinations...

s.i.n.g.a.p.o.r.e (To be crossed out in June!)

Clark Quay, Marina Bay Sands, Sentosa, Orchard Road...going to be a weekend full of shopping, wining & dining, shopping, photographing, and bonding with my dear sister! Can't wait!!! ;)

l.o.s  a.n.g.e.l.e.s

Long awaited plan to visit my sister's family and A's cousins. I'm sure it will be refreshing to finally get out of Asia!

While we're in the US, thought of going to one of my favorite states...

n.e.w  y.o.r.k!!!

Aaahh...New York! New York! I've always understood the fascination of Spike Lee and Woody Allen to this magnanimous city! It just takes your breath away! I've never been there but I'm sure it will not disappoint considering my high expectations..I'm certain it will still be met and give me so much more! NYC's appeal is not just about their pizza and cheesecake. It's more about the lights that are on to blind me and the endless possibilities! I can imagine my dream of living ala SATC (what girl wouldn't want that?! haha!) would kick in while I walk the streets of 5th avenue and Manhattan. Oh, and have I mentioned the little shops I would love to visit?! And, okay a visit to Wall Street wouldn't hurt either...I'll do it for A. :D I'm sure a week will not be enough to explore this city.
